Dick Blakeley

CEO / CCO

Dick founded The Blakeley Group in 2009. As the Chief  Executive and Compliance Office,  he is personally committed to offering a uniquely personal client service experience to individuals and their families based on the fiduciary standards of always putting the interest of the clients first .

Dick is dedicated to providing investment strategies that help clients integrate and meet their life and financial goals and priorities.  A skilled financial professional with 30 plus years of client service experience, he started as a stock broker at Payne Weber. In 1980 he moved to Smith Barney where he led an 18 member team, The Blakeley Group at Smith Barney, and developed the first West Coast Team in Corporate Services.  He left the firm in 2007 and became a founding member and President of Concert Wealth Management before starting The Blakeley Group two years later.

Dick grew up in New Mexico. He was a national merit scholar at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and attended UNM focusing on math & music before joining the U.S. Marine Corp and attending the US Naval Academy.

Joining his brother living in California at the time, Dick moved to Santa Clara County in 1976. He appreciates the natural beauty of the state and feels fortunate to live in Silicon Valley, where fresh ideas, innovative technologies, and new opportunities thrive. At home Dick relaxes in the kitchen, and enjoys sharing his culinary skills with family and friends whenever the opportunity arises.

Anna Blakeley

CAO

Anna started with The Blakeley Group in 2009 at the formation of the company. She manages office policies and coordinates administrative services with the firm’s accountant, employee solutions provider, facilities management, and other service providers. She also provides internal compliance support to the CEO/CCO. Anna enjoys the challenge of keeping the office running smoothly, knowing it is a necessary component to providing a consistent and excellent service experience for clients.

Anna is a native Midwesterner.  She received a BA from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she worked as an Art Director at WMT-TV. She subsequently became an Art Director at Rayovac Corporation in Madison, Wisconsin and began working towards an MFA degree at the University of Wisconsin.  Upon graduating, she moved to Northern California, and began working as a professional artist and art instructor.

Outside the office, Anna has many interests. She considers herself a neophyte gym rat, a border-line movie buff, an occasional bookworm, and a part-time art enthusiast.

Jack Perlmutter

Client Service Specialist

Jack is the lead Client Service Specialist in operations for The Blakeley Group. His focus is on facilitating the general account maintenance of managed portfolios, handling day-to-day client inquiries, service transactions, and rebalancing under the direction of the Senior Advisor.  His goal is to provide professional client support through steadfast service and clear communication.

Jack is a Bay Area native. He graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. While there, he was an Executive Board member for his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, and an intramural football champion. Jack’s introduction to business finance was as an intern at an accounting firm, where he was assigned to work on an audit project with the head of finance at The Shanti Project; a large non-profit located in San Francisco.   

Traveling, hiking with his ‘pet pal’ Dre, and skiing whenever it snows in Tahoe, are Jack’s top-three favorite past times. Always the sports enthusiast, he enjoys following sports news, especially basketball.

Derek Bornkamp

Administrative/Marketing Assistant

Derek began working at The Blakeley Group as a summer intern  in 2019 and was hired as an Admin/Ops Assistant after graduating from the University of California, Irvine.  Derek plays an integral part in helping the office run efficiently and effectively. He manages communications, appointments, and travel arrangements for the CEO. He works with the Operations team in processing account applications, handling service requests, and maintaining client relationships. He keeps the firm's CRM database and calendar up-to-date. With a naturally creative mind, Derek enjoys managing the marketing calendar and working on the firm's marketing projects.

Derek was born and raised in the Bay Area. Craving a change of scenery and a great education, he pursued a college career at UC Irvine. He studied Business Economics and Management, helping him expand his knowledge in multiple aspects of the business industry. He also developed a passion for dance after joining a hip-hop dance team based at UCI. After being on the team for two years, Derek volunteered to become a captain, training dancers and organizing the team's performances/practices. He worked on the Student Life & Activities team at the UCI Division of Continuing Education, acting as a resource for international students and planning activities to help them feel at home in the United States.

In his free time, Derek still enjoys dancing as a form and self-expression. He also enjoys satisfying his botanical curiosity by collecting and taking care of plants.
